feline, feathered friends and frosting!

Our kitten, Poppy wasn't at all sure about her first experience with snow. She peered out from under our garden bench and wondered what it was all about. It didn't take too long before she was out from underneath to suss it all out though.I didn't capture it on camera but she shook her paws often! (-: This Dunnock (hedge sparrow) came on to the bird table to take pecks at the suet block. It looks like the Blackbirds had already cleaned up the sultanas from there! This female Blackbird and several males fought over some halved apples that I'd scattered in the garden as well as the sultanas. Here is one of several male Blackbirds that spent the day in my garden.I tried to capture the sense of the snow falling.......... quite an event for us here. Here is much the same view of our garden but later on in the evening when a bit more snow had settled. I like the colour that the camera decided to produced on 'auto'.I loved the light on the snow which settled on the top of our fence and again the colour of the sky that the camera produced. We may possibly have more snow on the way later this week. We shall see........

Poppy is adorable! My kitty was out exploring the snow w/ me today too and shaking his back paws like he had stepped in something sticky!
Your garden looks so lovely and I especially liked the photo w/ the orangish lighting cast upon it.

I just love the sight of snow falling and it's so beautiful in your garden. I got a kick out of Poppy's exploration. She has grown! Great effects with the colors of dusk. I love it.

Hi Shelley, yes, we love her to bits, tho she still tried to climb up our curtains!!! Funny that your cat was doing the same thing today! (-:

Hi Christine, Poppy poppet and I had great fun with her first exploration of snow. She is growing fast and is sooo much more 'solid' that our last cat Katie. I have to confess that both those last photos were taken in the dark and it was just the way the camera interpreted the light that produced those colours. I loved it too though! (-:

I love that bench and the view. That first shot of Poppy and the bench is very pretty! Poor little Poppy....I love watching the cats bound through the snow and shake their paws. The three I have now, don't even want to venture out in it! They look.... and think about it....but turn back to their warm beds. Of course our temp at the moment is 10, so I don't blame them.

Great pictures, Poppy does indeed look a little bemused by all the strange white stuff all over the place! I think you captured the snow falling perfectly.
