Mum's feeders are so much closer to the house than mine so I'm able to get reasonably close and take photos through the window. This makes them slightly fuzzy, but still not bad. This Blue Tit and Great Tit together on the fat balls shows the difference in their size nicely. The Blue Tits seem to prefer the coconut. They get through one pretty quickly!

My digits are crossed Jenny Wren! These photos are terrific! I saw the Blue Tit on Roy’s blog today and am just amazed! Such a beauty. Your winter wren is so cute with his tail straight up. Great post and great photos!
Hey Jen.
The Blue Tit images are beautiful.
The Jenny Wren is cute as well.
Hopefully, you could get some Fieldfares on those apples.
Wonderful shots! I didn't realize that birds liked coconut...will have to try that! Your wren is very cute and I like seeing him among the crabapples.
What a great view from that window.
Does the window open? I used to open the window and close the curtains and have the lens just poking through the opening in the curtains so the birds would not be too spooked.
Wonderful shots! You have some real gems here. Wish I could do this. I too didn't realize that coconut was a bird food. It makes sense, except in the wild who do the birds employ to crack that thing open? I guess that is why we're around....
Hi Evie, thanks, I went over to Roys and saw that we'd both posted photos with Blue and Great Tit and mentioned the size difference, spooky! (-:
Hi Roy, yes that's what I'm hoping for, either Redwing or Fieldfare. I have to be in the right place at the right time.....
Hi Mary and Christine, my Mum has been feeding coconut to the birds for years. At 82 years of age, it's a bit worrying to know that she drills the holes to put the wire through with an electric drill!!!
Hi Alan, I'll have to check out whether the window opens up there and if it does, will have to try out your method, the photos would be so much sharper. Thanks!
What a splendid collection of photographs Jenny, just love all of them. Those little birds are the most precious shots.
Hi Denise, thanks for looking in on my blog. Yes, they're such lovely birds, I love all of the Tit family.
