Here is a male Pheasant on his way up to the patio to feed on mixed seed. The females tend to be a bit more timid and stay amongst the shrubs in the garden. The Red-legged Partridges don't suffer from shyness and this one showed me both sides of it's profile. I think one side is definitely better than the other! (-:
I might call this one Sid Vicious as it seems to have a punk hairstyle! This would have been a nice head shot of a Wood Pigeon, only the window reflection misted up this photo a bit. Shame.I like this shot of two very common birds. The Blackbird (female) and Robin. At first glance, it looks like the Blackbird should maybe be the nearer of the two somehow. More from Mum's tomorrow......

Nice lot of images Jen, I like the RL Partridge with the 'Mohican' hairstyle.
You are right about the Blackbird/Robin, its an optical illusion.
Wow, Sid is the cock-of-the-rock! What a great bird and a fun post to read.
Love the Sid Vicious partridge Jen :) Pheasants always remind me of my Aunt's cottage in Warwickshire, they always stroll through her garden too. Glad that your Mum is doing well.
Hi Roy, there were several Partridges up on the patio at that time and I expect the raised head thing on Sid was some sort of display going on.
Hi Steve, yes, I reckon he did think he was the alpha male or wants to be!
Hi Celeste, he's certainly made an impression! (-: Maybe the Pheasants and Partridges know they're safe in this particular garden! (-:
Glad to hear your mum is doing well! Your pheasant photos make me smile - they look like they have a "determined" walk! Or should I say strut?
I'm just loving Sid!!!
wow...I missed some good stuff here! I've never seen a photo of the female pheasant, so that was interesting. I love that Red-legged Pargridge...beautiful! So many colors and patterns in both of these birds. Glad that your mum is doing so well.
