Spring in a pot!

There's nothing like spring flowers for lifting the spirits.  Inbetween the rain showers, I took my camera out into the garden the other day to record this none too tidy (I don't 'do' tidy) mix of springness!
In the overcast light the colours seemed to glow.
The Anemone blanda was particularly luminous!
Snakeshead Fritillary is one of Chris's favourite spring bulbs. These were putting on a fine show.
This beautiful Hepatica wasn't in the pot but is one of the few things that is flowering in the ground right now.  They are difficult plants that hate any disturbance, so I was amazed to see it come up the year after my sweet husband dug a hole right through it to put up the Arts and Crafts birdtable that he'd made me!
I was given this plant about 25 years ago by a lovely old gent who I used to serve when I worked in a garden centre in London. Thanks Mr Hunt! Long may it survive! (-:

Beautiful, beautiful images Jen, or as Pop Larkin would say "Purfeck".

Hi Jen,
Wow lucky you to get all these flowers out already.. Only the crocus have attempted to do so around here... Maybe the tulips will soon blow, but it is so cold. I love these pictures, they really got me warm ;-)

A lovely selection of colourful Spring in a pot Jen. I'm very jealous of the Hepatica, certainly not an easy one to keep going. FAB.

Bee-utiful Wren! Both the colorful flower faces and the pictures. Inspires me to visit a nursery today and get some little flower faces in a pot on the porch!

Ohhh....gorgeous photos! Macro is your forte! I hope you do more close-ups of spring in your yard!

Hi Roy, I wish they'd show that on the telly again, but they never seem to repeat anything decent!

Hi Chris, I hope that spring comes for you soon! I'm glad you got some warmth from these photos! (-:

Hi Frank, I was so amazed and glad that the Hepatica survived the mauling it got. The birdhouse that Chris made for me and put up was such a lovely surprise that I couldn't be angry! (-:

Hi Sharon, I hope you're not getting all that snow over there. Glad you got some cheer from the photos.

Hi Evie, I practiced some of the tips that we talked about taking photos with A priority. I need more practice, but am hoping it will become more familiar to me. Thanks!

Hi Pix, do you have some pots on your porch? I'm sure they'd look loverrrly with some spring colour right now! (-:

Hi Kelly, thanks for that, I will certainly try and take some more photos in the garden when more is showing! (-:

What a colorful, wonderful scene. The raindrops and all those fresh flowers. Thank you for the visual feast.

Very pretty! I like stuff that doesn't look too neat (I don't do neat either :-) Such a nice color combo. I've never seen one of those Snakeshead Frillarys before, so I'm glad you identified it. I kept trying to decide if it was a tulip of some sort. A very lovely pot of spring beauties! I can't wait to buy some pansies to stick in my outdoor pots.
