Playing with my new macro

I went out this morning to try out my new macro lens. I use a Nikon D40X body. The macro is a 105mm f2.8 and I also use a 70-300mm telephoto lens for birding.

I help out with the local Rodden Nature Reserve on the outskirts of Frome and have been trying to take photographs of the birds, bugs and flowers that inhabit the area. We have a website at http://www.roddennaturereserve.org.uk/ . This new macro lens should help alot!

Here are some of the Butterflies and Damselflies and Moths that I saw over there today.

Hi Jenny!
The macro pictures are wonderful. I really love that large skipper close up! Those little damselflies are hard to get too!! Great work!
I answered your question on my blog about the keets! They are baby Guinea Fowl!!! I'm hoping they grow up to be big tick eaters to help slow down the ticks we have here!

Hey Eve
Glad my message got thru on your blog at last! (-: I'm new to this photography milarky, so still have a lot of learning and experimenting to do. I have made obvious hints to my brothers to get me Adobe Photoshop Elements software for my birthday which is tomorrow, so hopefully I will get to have a play with that shortly. Digits crossed!

Hi Eve
A question for you....
What is the protocol for adding other peoples blogs to your favourites list? I think I've figured out how to do it. I just wonder if it is best to ask people first before I put it on. Yours for instance! (-: Cheers
Jen

Well first of all Happy Birthday Jen!!! I hope you get your wish! If you get Photoshop don't get discouraged...at first it seems overwhelming but it will come to you. Also you can ask others or me for help! I would be more than happy to give you tips!!
I don't think there is a protocol for adding others to your favorites!!! Most people...like me...would be very flattered to be on a favorites list!! Thanks!! I'm semi-new to blogging but think I have a bit of a grasp...let me know if you have any problems and we can work through them together!!
Cheers to you!

Thanks Eve
I'm going up to my Mums where I will see all my brothers (three) tomorrow (Friday), so hopefully I will know if any of them have taken the hint then.
We have ticks over here too, but not in the same numbers I think. I've had ticks in America whilst walking through woods in Iowa. Nasty little beasts!
I'll let you know if I have any problems with Adobe Elements, I have been using a simplified free one for my photos so far, so hopefully it wont be too different.
Cheers
Jen
