Mallard musings.....

Hmmmmmm......well now.....what do you think? Which is my best side? Maybe I don't have a best side, maybe I'm most handsome head on.Or maybe this way?Or this? Tut! Sigh! This is sooooooo difficult! How about a side on view? Left side?Or right? Make your mind up, I'm getting dizzy! This is MY favourite one below! (-: I took these photos whilst waiting for the Osprey to turn up at Stourhead last Sunday. A nice bunch of Mallards waddled up to check me out. Just goes to show that even the most common of birds can be fun!

I love your little ducky series...and I love that head on shot! I captured a chickadee yesterday (like your coal tit, I think) head on also....those are fun shots. I love all the angles and shots....very pretty.

Cute and fun post Jenny. I love the head on shot, he looks both amused and perplexed by you! He is handsome, somehow he reminds me of George Hamilton. Have you heard of him? I am just a touch strange in that I see famous people in animal faces, pay no attention.

I love the series of photographs you have of the Mallard. Like you said it just goes to show that even common birds provide a lot of entertainment.
Keep up the great work!

Hi Jen,
We do tend to ignore the common species some time, but they are just as colourful in their own way.

Hi Kelly, yes our coal tit is quite like your BC Chickadee. I'll have to check in on your blog to see if you've posted it.

Hi Pix, I think that what he was really doing was trying to find out if I had any bread handy! (-: George Hamilton, is he the old geezer, quite debonair? Dont ask me to quote any films, I'm useless at that! (-:

Hi Anna, thanks for dropping in on my blog, glad you liked the photos. It was fun to take them whilst waiting for the Osprey.

Hi Roy, you're right. Sometimes the subtle birds are just as exciting to watch. One of my favourite birds is the Wood Warbler. Not blindingly colourful, but full of character.

Hi Evie, I'm very glad I was able to start your morning off well! (-:

Hi Christine, a very very VERY handsome Mallard. At least he thought so! (-:

Yeah Jenny the debonair old geezer. Your duck is much better looking!

Hi Jenny,

Some love them some hate them. But I love them, and your photos prove what lovely Ducks they are. They strut around and not really afraid of anything. Street wise they call it.

Nice one Jen.

John

Common they may be but still interesting in their own right. FAB

That last one is beautiful...my favorite too. I like the first one that is straight on, too....so symmetrical.
