Some birds at Rodden Reserve

Over the past few days I've had the opportunity to take some bird photos around Rodden Reserve.
There was a lovely family of Grey Wagtails which seem to hang around the Mill House area of the reserve. They are lovely graceful birds though slightly misnamed as they are so much more than just grey!

This was one of many Robins singing their beautiful pure song.

This Moorhen shot is not the best in the world, but they're so seldom seen in flight that I was pleased to get this shot in the foggy conditions.

This Whinchat was passing through on its migration south to Africa.

I tried so many times to photograph a Grey Wagtail but could never get close enough.

That's great catching Moorhen the in flight.

Hi Jen,

Like the Grey Wagtails they are lovely birds (better than the Yellows I think) and the Whinchat was a really good find.

That wagtail is really beatiful! I'd love to see one of those. I agree that the name "Grey Wagtail" doesn't do it justice.

Hi Alan, you can probably tell that those photos were heavily cropped so I wasn't that close mores the pity.

Hi Roy, yes, I was pleased to find the Whinchat, a new bird for the reserve list I think.

Hi Mary, yes, unlike us, your USA warbler names describe the birds very well.
