Sky Watch Friday

Hi there, I've been completely uninspired with our skies in the South West of Britain this week, so I thought I'd look further afield and back into my birding holiday archives for a nice sky memory.
This photo was taken up in Queensland, Australia back in October/November 2005. We were sitting down for a spot of lunch at Mount Malloy when an inquisitive Blue-faced Honeyeater came along to check us out! Luckily, I seemed to have my little point and shoot Nikon Coolpix everywhere with me on that holiday! (-:

I'm happy you shared this; it is a jewel of a photo. It's framed perfectly. What a handsome bird. Or she?

I've had less than inspiring skies, too--such is the season upon us.

:-) I wasn't expecting to find a Blue-faced Honeyeater in here. Nice one!

Yup, those honeyeaters got me trigger happy up in Q'land too.

I love it when the "bird watchers" are the birds watching us. Great photo. I hope you'll share more from that trip.

Jenny: I don't know if I did it correctly, but I just "stole" the Skywatch logo photo by right clicking on it and saving it. Then under "add a gadget" on my own blog, I added it as a picture to the sidebar and used their URL with it turning it into a link. If you learn an easier way, let me know! I've never figured out how to put it in my blog post or make words work as a link like other people do. If this doesn't make sense, than ask Klaus...he can tell you probably better than I can!

Hi Jen,
Its always a good idea to have a compact digital in your pocket. That looks like a Magpie with a blue and white head {:)
